Fish Bite Slow

From what I’m hearing the last two days the fish seem to be on vacation as most places are reporting fishing very slow. With the warm up coming this weekend look for things to improve.
FISHING CONDITIONS ON LAKES CADILLAC AND MITCHELL
FROM PILGRIM VILLAGE FISHING SHOP
The 7th Annual Pilgrim??s Village Spearing Contest has come to an end. With the season change it began December 1 and concluded January 31. Ice conditions remained safe the whole time. It was marked with daily changes, with many up grades and fish to be measured. Several of the regular names were bumped and new ones added. It has been fun for us and we hope you enjoyed it.
We especially thank two of our major sponsors for the prizes they??ve donated. Rob??s Taxidermy (Cadillac), a wall mount of a speared spike. Robs mounts, fish or fur are true to life. He does quality work at reasonable rates. Tom Richards (Cadillac), The Dark House Guru, donated a custom made 6 tine spear and other spearing gifts.
The Final Standings are:
The Covenanted First Place
Thomas Jessup Jr. 36?, 10.3 lbs. (speared on Lake Mitchell the last afternoon of the contest).
Second Place William Beaver 34 ½?, 8.8 lbs.
Third Place George Fox 34 1/8?, 9.5 lbs.
Fourth Place Brian Brown 33 ¾?, 8.5 lbs.
Fifth Place Alan Anderson 32?, 6.9 lbs.
Sixth Place Scott McConnell 32?, 6.3 lbs.
Seventh Place Chris Hansen 31 1/8?, 7 lbs.
Eighth Place Tom Richards 30 ½?, 5.8 lbs.
Youth Standings:
First Place Gavin Jessup 30 ¾?, 6.6 lbs.
Second Place Tyler McConnell 26 ¾?, 4 lbs.
The Pilgrim Village contest is over but remember the DNR regulation changes this season and pike spearing remains open until March 15th.
Can??t catch any big perch? Talk to Miles McLeod from Lake City. This young angler can. He??s caught a prize, 11 ¼? perch caught from Lake Cadillac.
Tom Haines caught a healthy 37 ¼?, 11.3 pound pike, caught on a tip-up on Lake Mitchell.
Dark House Special, Kerry Seehase speared a Master Angler Bowfin last week. He backed it with 2 more, even larger. One was 31?, 10 pounds, the other a 29?, 7.8 pounds. Call him the Dog Man.
