Holiday Fishing is Good

Check out Buc’s Facebook Fishing Report
The ice is better since the last report. Expect to find 6 to 8” in most areas on both Lakes Mitchell and Cadillac. However some spots with less still exist. It’s still smart to check with your spud wherever you go. Right or wrong, quads and snowmobiles are now on the lakes.
No hot spot for pike—good, healthy pike are coming from both lakes. Tip-ups baited with golden shiners or suckers are the way to go. Many are buying half and half and letting the pike choose the one they prefer.
Three lines are legal and remember to put your name and address on your tip-ups.
Tim and Timmy Rizor caught their limit while fishing Using a tip-up baited with a golden shiner, Josh Crame caught a
on Lake Mitchell. Nice pike ranging from 33 to 25”. 32” pike that weighed over 7 pounds.
Some of the local fishermen are doing well on walleye. Their choice of tackle has been light line tip-ups baited with medium sized blue shiners. Jigging Rapalas are also taking their share. We’ve seen impressive numbers and better then average size for our lakes. Lake Mitchell has been more consistent then Lake Cadillac with even a limit or two.
