The Kenwood Park Area on Lake Cadillac has been one of the better areas to fish, if you’re looking for panfish. Good catches of crappie, gills, mixed with a few keeper size perch are coming from depths of 12 foot or deeper.

Crappie have been hitting on small minnows, their favorite – but red spikes are also working. Often, they suspend and may be just under the ice. Skill and the use of electronics make the difference on what’s in the skillet. They are not aggressive. Watch your line. We’re told they just suck in baits and not move.

This is not a secret spot. Expect numbers of anglers in this area. Look for the shanties.

Pike, Pike and more Pike. Try either lake any where there are weeds. Lake Mitchell traditionally has the numbers. Cadillac is known for fewer but often larger pike.
